Talav village was included among the 35 ‘best tourist villages’ of the country by the Union Tourism Ministry. The village also received a bronze category award in a function organized in New Delhi on the occasion of World Tourism Day. This honor is considered a proof of the tourism potential of the village and the efforts made towards sustainable development.
History
The history of this village, which is about 800 years old, is also very interesting. It is said that before the village was settled, there used to be a huge pond here. First of all, four brothers from Delhi reached the banks of this pond, one of whom settled here while the rest went to other places. Later people of Phusla gotra also came and settled here. Due to this big pond the village was named ‘Talav’.
According to history, later people of Gehlawat gotra also came and settled here and with time the village expanded. During the partition and riots, many families of the Muslim community living here moved to other places, while some families remained in the village.

Talav village is also called the village of heroes. 56 people of this village took part in the First World War (1914-1919), out of which 6 soldiers were martyred. The memorial plaque in his memory is still present in the old Chaupal of the village. The village also has 5 Anganwadi centres, a school, sports stadium, Shyam Mandir and important places like Naugaja Peer. Due to natural beauty, rich history and environmental protection philosophy, Talav village has today carved its own identity among the major rural tourist destinations of Haryana.
