New Delhi: It is rare that during festivals there is talk of sweets and there is no mention of Kaju Katli. As its demand increases during Diwali, its prices also become quite expensive. On the other hand, increasing reports of adulteration in the market are motivating people to make sweets at home. If you are also troubled by inflation and adulteration, and are looking for some cheap, tasty and healthy option this time, then you can make protein-packed peanut katli. It can be prepared easily at home.
To make Peanut Katli, you need 2-3 cups of peanuts, 2 tablespoons of milk powder, 1 cup of natural sugar-free sweetener, half a cup of water, 1 teaspoon of ghee or oil and a quarter teaspoon of cardamom powder.
Prepare peanut powder like this
To make Peanut Katli sweet, first put 2 cups of peanuts in a pan and fry them on low flame. Fry the peanuts until their shells become loose and separate. After roasting, take out the peanuts in a big plate and leave them to cool. After the peanuts cool down, rub them in both hands and remove all the peels.
In the second step, put roasted peanuts in small quantities in the mixer and grind them finely. Sieve the peanut powder through a sieve and check that there are no lumps left in it. Now add peanut powder in a big bowl. Add 2 tablespoons milk powder and 1/4 teaspoon cardamom powder, and mix everything well.
Mix peanut powder in syrup
Now take a large pan, add 1 cup natural sugar-free sweetener and 1/2 cup water. Now boil it well on low flame for at least 5 minutes. When the syrup becomes a string, add ground peanut powder to it. Now we have to mix all this. Keep stirring it continuously until the paste becomes smooth and starts leaving the consistency. Be careful that the mixture does not get overcooked.
After the mixture is ready, spread butter paper on a tray and apply light ghee. Add the prepared mixture into it and let it thicken while turning with a spatula. Then level it with the help of butter paper. When the mixture becomes manageable, knead it into a soft dough. Now place it between two layers of butter paper and roll it a little thick with a rolling pin. Finally, cut diamond shaped pieces with the help of a knife. In this way, delicious peanut katli will be prepared at home for Diwali, which you can also serve to guests on the festival.
