This is the second largest Shivlingam in Asia's religious tourism circuit! Minister's assurance

State Tourism Minister Shankar Ghosh has assured to include Shivnivas of Nadia, the Shiv Tirtha founded by Raja Krishnachandra, famous for the second largest Shiv Linga in Asia, like Jalpesh in North Bengal, in the religious tourism circuit. He also said that initiatives will be taken to highlight the Shravani Mela of Shivnivas on the tourism map of the state.

Note that this day was the last Monday of the month of Shravana. Before that, the tourism minister reached the Shivnivas temple around 11:30 on Sunday. MLA of the area Sukanta Biswas was with him. After worshiping in the temple, both of them poured water on the Shivalinga. There, the minister informed about the plan to promote tourism around Shivnivas. He also said that there is a plan to include the Shiv Mandir in Shivnivas in the 'Religious Circuit' of religious tourism proposed by the state government.

The tourism minister said, “A large number of Shiva devotees gather every Shravan month in Jalpesh in North Bengal. Similarly, thousands of people come to pour water on Shiva's head in Shravan month. There are plans to take special initiatives to promote tourism around these two religious centers.” He assured that the government will also take initiatives to improve the infrastructure and services in the future keeping in mind the benefits of the large number of devotees who come to Shivnivas every year. On the other hand, as it was the last Monday of Shravan, devotees continued to pour into Shivnivas from this morning. Despite the rain, mud and adverse weather conditions, the temple grounds practically take on the appearance of a sea of people in the presence of thousands of people. Locals claim that the number of devotees was much higher than last few years. Adequate number of police and administration personnel were deployed for security.
