This SUV of Maruti became famous abroad, made a record of export of 2 lakh units in just 38 months

Tezzbuzz Desk- Amidst the increasing demand abroad for cars made in India, Maruti Suzuki's compact SUV Fronx has made a big record on the export front. Fronx has become the fastest SUV to export 2 lakh units from India. According to the company, this SUV has achieved this feat in less than 38 months. The first consignment of Fronx was sent abroad from India in June 2023 and after this its demand continuously increased in different international markets.

Fronx is manufactured at Maruti Suzuki's Hansalpur plant in Gujarat. After manufacturing in India, this SUV is being exported to about 90 countries of the world. These also include the names of large and developed automobile markets like Japan. This achievement is special for the company because Fronx has made a strong mark in the foreign markets in a very short time. If we look at the figures, Fronx had achieved the first figure of 1 lakh units in terms of exports in less than 25 months. After this, it took only about 13 months to send the next 1 lakh vehicles abroad. That means the export of the second 1 lakh units was much faster than the first 1 lakh units. This figure shows that the demand for Fronx is continuously increasing in the international market and the popularity of this Indian-made SUV is getting stronger among foreign customers.

According to Maruti Suzuki, this record of Fronx also strengthens the company's 'Make in India, Make for the World' strategy. The company's Managing Director and CEO Hisashi Takeuchi has said that every car exported from India conveys the hard work and pride of the employees working in the country to the world. The company has been working on developing India as its global manufacturing and export hub for a long time. Maruti Suzuki currently exports its cars from India to about 120 countries. The company's major overseas markets include many countries in Latin America, Africa, the Middle East and Asia. Fronx's export figure of 2 lakh units has come at a time when Indian automobile companies are continuously emphasizing on increasing their presence in the global market.

The company also informed that Maruti Suzuki models were included in the top-3 most exported passenger cars from India in the first quarter of the financial year 2026-27. This shows that the company's hold is not limited to the domestic market only, but the demand for Indian cars remains strong in foreign markets as well. The success of Fronx can also be considered important for the Indian automobile industry. Domestic manufacturing, supply chain and employment can benefit from increasing demand abroad for vehicles manufactured in India. If global demand for Indian cars continues to grow at this pace, India can further strengthen its position as the world's leading automobile export hub in the coming years.
