‘This will not be a one-sided series’, Zimbabwe captain Alexander’s challenge to India

The tour of Ireland and England was not good at all for the Indian team. Now Team India is going to start the Zimbabwe tour with new enthusiasm and fresh mindset. On this tour, a 3-match T20 series will be played between India and Zimbabwe. Even before the start of the series, Zimbabwe captain Sikandar Raza has given a big statement and given an open challenge to Team India. He says that he will not let this series be one-sided at all.

 

The three-match T20 series between India and New Zealand will start from July 23. The first match will be played on 23rd July while the second match will be played on 25th July and the third on 26th July. All the matches of the series will be played at Harare Sports Club in Harare. According to Indian time, all three matches will start at 4:30 pm.

What did Sikandar Raza say?

Referring to Zimbabwe’s improved performance in recent months, Sikandar Raza said that his team has been consistently playing good cricket. He expressed confidence that the players will come on the field with full confidence and will give a tough competition to a strong team like India.

 

Speaking to Star Sports, Sikandar Raza said that Zimbabwe has consistently played good and entertaining cricket in recent times. He said, ‘Both countries have equal chances to win this series. I am confident that this series will be very exciting and the audience will get to see great cricket. Raza also said that his team is not going to back down from any challenge and will enter the field against India with full preparation.

Sikandar Raza believes that both India and Zimbabwe are currently going through a period of change. In such a situation, it would not be right to consider any one team as the winner in advance. He said that he does not think that this series will be one-sided.

Recent performance of Zimbabwe and Indian team

The Zimbabwe captain said that his team has been playing excellent cricket in recent months. They have defeated strong teams like Australia, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh, so the team will go against India with full confidence.

Under the captaincy of Shreyas Iyer, India suffered a crushing defeat of 0-2 in the T20 series against Ireland and 0-4 against England.
