Threat to blow up Delhi Assembly, police-intelligence in alert mode

Security agencies became alert after receiving a threat to blow up the Delhi Assembly once again with a bomb on Wednesday. This threat was sent through email, after which security arrangements were immediately tightened in the assembly premises and a massive search operation was started. The authorities took all necessary steps to deal with any possible threat.

Received mail on Monday also

This is the second consecutive incident when such a threat has come to light within two days. Earlier on Monday also a similar email was received, which alerted the security system. In the latest email, it was claimed that this message has been sent by a group associated with Pakistan’s intelligence agency ISI. It was written in the subject of the email that after investigation by the bomb disposal squad, five RDX bombs would be detonated in the assembly within two hours.

The content of the email also included a long message in Hindi, which made some political allegations and warned the police. This message is said to have been sent in the name of a suspicious person. Although, in the initial investigation it has been classified as spam, but the security agencies are taking it seriously and investigating every aspect.

No suspicious object found

After receiving the threat, bomb disposal squad, dog squad and local police team immediately reached the spot. The entire assembly complex was evacuated and an intensive search operation was conducted. Fire department vehicles were also deployed there as a precaution. During the investigation that lasted for several hours, no suspicious object was found.

According to police sources, many such threats have been received in recent times, which were later proved to be false. Therefore, in this case too, prima facie it is being considered as a hoax, but as a precaution, no carelessness is being taken. Delhi Police and intelligence agencies are trying to identify the source and sender of the email.

It is noteworthy that so far this year, this is the fifth incident of receiving a bomb threat to the Delhi Assembly. Repeatedly receiving such threats has challenged the security system, due to which the administration is continuously increasing vigilance and taking every information seriously and investigating it.
