‘Threatened to kill Trump at Khamenei’s funeral…’ Enraged, US President Trump warned, said – ‘Our 1000 missiles are ready’

Dubai/Washington. Amidst the ongoing tension in West Asia (Middle East), relations between America and Iran have once again reached the brink of war. After publicly calling for the assassination of US President Donald Trump during the funeral of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Trump has warned Iran in a very strong and destructive tone. This statement of Trump has almost ended the fragile interim ceasefire agreement in the region, which had already become extremely weak due to the recent attacks.

‘American army will completely destroy Iran’

US President Donald Trump directly challenged Iran on his social media platform ‘Truth Social’ and wrote, “Our one thousand missiles are absolutely ready and their direct target is Iran. If the Iranian government dares to act on any of its threats, thousands more missiles will be fired immediately thereafter.”

Trump further warned in very strong words that the US military has the full capability to completely annihilate and destroy all areas of Iran. Trump made it clear that in his view, the interim ceasefire agreement between the two countries has now “expired”, although he would keep the door open to negotiations for a permanent peace.

Strait of Hormuz became the main center of dispute

This new dispute started when the US demanded Iran to publicly declare that the ‘Strait of Hormuz’, the most important sea route for the global energy market, is completely open and there will be no attacks on commercial ships passing through there. In fact, this week Iran had increased the tension by attacking three ships passing through this route.

Rejecting this US demand, Iran’s Ambassador to the United Nations (UN), Amir Saeed Iravani, said outside the Security Council, “Opening the Strait of Hormuz or conducting any kind of activity there is completely within the sovereign jurisdiction of Iran. Any attempt by external parties to interfere in it or impose any kind of control system will be considered a direct violation of the agreement.”

International law versus Iran’s claims

Iran is now demanding that it has complete control over the Strait of Hormuz, which has been considered an international waterway for centuries, and that all foreign ships passing through there will have to pay a ‘navigation fee’ (tax) to Tehran. This stance is in stark contrast to the decades-old rules of global shipping.

Internal power struggle deepens in Iran

US officials, speaking on condition of anonymity, said a power struggle has erupted within Iran since Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was killed in US and Israeli air strikes at the beginning of the war. According to officials, “A group of Iranian radicals has resumed attacks on ships in a deliberate attempt to sabotage the ceasefire between Washington and Tehran.” Meanwhile, several mysterious airstrikes are continuing inside Iran despite the US announcing a halt to the airstrikes. It is not yet clear who is behind these attacks, and other Arab countries of the Gulf have also not yet reacted to this sensitive situation.
