Three friends from Haryana killed, two injured in road accident on Jammu-Srinagar highway

Jammu, 14 June 2026: Road accident on Jammu-Srinagar highway Three youth from Haryana were killed and two others were seriously injured in a serious road accident that occurred early on Sunday morning on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway. This accident took place in Jagti-Karli area near IIM, Jammu, when a bus going from Jammu towards Udhampur collided heavily with a Creta car coming from the front.

The collision was so severe that the body of the car was broken and smoke and debris were scattered at the spot. As soon as the news of the accident was received, the police reached the spot and with the help of local people, rescued the injured and took them to GMC Jammu Hospital.

Doctors at the hospital declared two people dead, while a young man died during treatment. The deceased have been identified as Sikandar Saifi and Shakti – both residents of Ballabhgarh (Haryana) – and Mohit Verma, son of Sunil Verma, also a resident of Ballabhgarh (Haryana).

Meanwhile, Deepak Verma (25), son of Manoj Verma and resident of Ballabhgarh, Haryana, and Kuldeep Sharma, son of Indrapal Sharma and resident of Bahudutt, who were injured in the accident, are being treated at GMC Jammu. The condition of both is said to be serious.

According to preliminary information, the youth in the car had gone to Kashmir and were returning home after visiting Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Temple in Katra. However, the police have not yet officially confirmed these details, as the condition of the injured persons does not currently allow them to make statements.

Nagrota police have registered a case in this regard and started investigation into the cause of the accident. Police are trying to determine whether the accident occurred due to speed, carelessness or some other reason.
