Uproar by students at Patna’s Patliputra station, chaos on railway track after stone pelting

There was a huge uproar today at Patliputra station in the capital Patna. This ruckus was created by the examinees of the Prohibition Department. Actually, Sunday (June 14) i.e. today, examination centers for the prohibition department have been set up in various districts of Bihar. This examination will be conducted in two shifts. But the candidates who reached Patliputra station created a ruckus even before the examination.

The examinees pelted stones, landed on the railway track and stopped train operations. On this whole matter, Railway IG Amresh Kumar said that at around 11:45 pm, two trains were stopped at the station. This train was also for the candidates, but during this time a crowd of two to two hundred and fifty people sat on the railway track of the station and started demanding a special train.

This crowd said that special trains should be provided to the candidates. On this, the railway administration, while talking at a high level, also provided a special train. At around 2:30 the special train reached Patliputra station, but the people sitting on the track had different thoughts.

Despite the arrival of the special train, these people demonstrated furiously. Besides, stones were also pelted by the students. In response to which there was lathi charge by the police. Police released tear gas and brought the situation under control. The protest by candidates who had come to appear for the examination at Patliputra railway station turned violent and there were reports of vandalism in the train.

Police used tear gas, fired warning shots and resorted to lathicharge to disperse the crowd. The situation is still tense. The candidates were protesting against the inadequate train arrangements.

The protest turned violent when a special train run for the exam was vandalized, prompting the police to intervene and fire warning shots. Many officers including IG suffered minor injuries. Security has been increased.

Regarding the violence at Patliputra railway station, IG Jitendra Rana said, “There were around 200-250 students who were preventing the train from running. When the police, along with the RPF, GRP and the district police force, tried to persuade them to vacate the way, some of them started pelting stones. The police took necessary action to prevent loss of life and property. After the police action, the crowd was dispersed and now all trains are running again.” Are engaged.”

Patna DM Dr Thiyagarajan said, “Around midnight we received information that some people were creating nuisance. We repeatedly requested them not to create ruckus and cooperate with the candidates willing to take the exam. However, some anti-social elements repeatedly violated the emergency arrangements and put forward various demands, such as demanding special trains, even though two special trains were already available.”

He said that they also stopped students who wanted to take the exam. Due to these problems we had to use mild force. Now the situation is completely normal and the trains have left. The trains meant for those appearing for the exam have already left. Railway services are also running normally.
