The CSA has announced a 15-member South Africa squad for the upcoming three-match T20I series against Zimbabwe, where three uncapped players earned their maiden call-ups.
Caitlin Wyngaard, U19 pacer Nthabiseng and off-spinner Luyanda Nzuza have been included in the squad led by Laura Wolvaardt.
The team has significant changes from the squad in the Women’s T20 World Cup in June and July. Along with Wolvaardt, Annerie Dercksen, Karabo Meso and Kayla Reyneke are the experienced ones named in the squad that is set to tour Zimbabwe.
Meanwhile, Faye Tunnicliffe, Anneke Bosch, Ayanda Hlubi, Eliz-Mari Marx, Seshnie Naidu, Nondumiso Shangase and Mian Smit are the players who weren't picked for the T20 World Cup.

The series will be crucial for the side ahead of the Champions Trophy in February. Speaking about the squad announcement, Mandla Mashimbyi said, “With several players away representing South Africa in franchise leagues across the world, we saw it fitting to select a young and ambitious squad and provide international opportunities to notable performers within the pipeline and pathway structure to the Proteas.”
“Nini, Nzuza and Wyngaard are youngsters whose development we’ve kept a close eye on over the last 12-18 months, and I can’t wait to see what they will bring to the international stage.
Meanwhile, WC batter Sinalo Jafta, Karabo Meso, all-rounders Kayla Reyneke and Annerie Dercksen have been named in the squad.
The five-match T20I series will be played on September 11, 13, 15, 17 and 19. All the games will be played at Queens Sports Club, Bulawayo.
