The Tuesday falling in the month of Jyeshtha is called Bada Mangal. Many mythological stories are prevalent regarding this. At the same time, it is also said in some beliefs that special events related to Lord Shri Ram had taken place at this time. For this reason, the importance of worshiping the old form of Hanuman ji increases on this day. This is the reason why it is also called ‘Budhwa Mangal’. After this, offer a garland of marigold flowers and light a ghee or oil lamp. Reciting Hanuman Chalisa, Sunderkand or Bajrang Baan during puja is considered beneficial. At the end, prasad should be distributed by offering boondi, gram flour laddu or jaggery-gram.

According to religious beliefs, offering a chola with jasmine oil and vermilion to Hanuman ji on Bada Mangal calms down planetary defects. By doing this, negative energy is removed and the person gets mental peace. Many people also go to the temple and perform special puja on this day.

Charity is also given special importance on this day. It is believed that donating things related to red color to the needy reduces Mangal Dosha and brings auspicious results. Donating red lentils, red cloth, red fruits, jaggery, gram and red sandalwood on Bada Mangal is considered auspicious. Apart from this, providing food and water to the poor is also considered virtuous.
