Weather Update: Many parts of North India including Delhi-NCR are in the grip of extreme heat and heat wave these days. The continuously increasing temperature has increased the problems of the people. However, now a relief news has come from the Meteorological Department. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted light to moderate rain, strong thunderstorm and lightning in 14 states of the country on June 22.
According to the Meteorological Department, the weather patterns may change in many states in the coming days. There are chances of cloudy sky, rain and strong winds in many areas including Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Punjab and Rajasthan. At the same time, a warning of extremely heavy rain has also been issued in some parts of North-East India, West Bengal and Sikkim.
How will the weather be in Delhi-NCR today?
Change in weather may be seen in Delhi and surrounding areas today. The weather department has predicted the sky to remain cloudy throughout the day. There is a possibility of strong thunderstorm and storm with a speed of 60 km per hour along with light rain in the afternoon and evening.
The maximum temperature in Delhi is expected to be between 37 to 39 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature is expected to be between 26 to 28 degrees Celsius. However, people are not hopeful of getting complete relief from the heat wave at present. The Meteorological Department has issued a heat wave warning for the next three days. Apart from this, hot winds may also blow at night till June 24.
How will the weather be in Uttar Pradesh?
At present, there seems to be little possibility for the people of Uttar Pradesh to get relief from the scorching heat. The Meteorological Department has issued an alert of heat wave in the western parts of the state from June 22 to 27. Severe heat wave conditions may persist in districts like Banda and Kanpur. Whereas in Lucknow, Varanasi and Prayagraj the temperature is likely to reach 45 degrees Celsius.
Chances of rain in which states?
According to the Meteorological Department, there may be rain in many parts of Chhattisgarh, Vidarbha and Western Madhya Pradesh between June 22 and 27. During this period, strong winds can blow at a speed of 60 km per hour in many areas. Besides, incidents of storm and lightning can also be seen.
