The heat in North India has now started becoming dangerous. The temperature in UP, Punjab, Haryana and Rajasthan including Delhi-NCR may reach 44 degrees Celsius in the coming days. A slight relief is definitely being felt in the morning, but by afternoon the strong sunlight and hot winds will make people uncomfortable.
The Meteorological Department has issued a heatwave alert in many states between April 23 and 26. Experts have advised people to avoid leaving the house in the afternoon, drink more water and take special care of children and the elderly.
Effect of intense heat for four days in Delhi-NCR
The weather is going to be extremely hot in Delhi and surrounding NCR areas for the next four days. According to the Meteorological Department, the maximum temperature can reach around 42 degrees Celsius on April 23. After this, the heat will increase further on 24th and 25th April, when the temperature is likely to reach 43 to 44 degrees Celsius.
A heat wave warning has been issued for these days. Due to strong sunlight and hot winds, people may face difficulty in going out during the day. Even on 26th and 27th April, there is not expected to be much respite from the heat and the temperature may remain around 42 degrees.
Effect of hot winds in Haryana also
The sky is going to be clear in most parts of Haryana, due to which the sunshine will be felt more intense. According to the Meteorological Department, the day temperature in the state can remain between 41 to 43 degrees Celsius. Although slight relief may be felt in the morning and late night, hot winds in the afternoon will increase people’s problems.
Temperature will increase in Punjab also
In Punjab also, the effect of heat may intensify in the coming days. The Meteorological Department has predicted the temperature in the state to increase by 3 to 4 degrees Celsius. Strong sunlight and hot winds can trouble people during the day.
Heat like May-June in Uttar Pradesh in April itself
This time in Uttar Pradesh, a period of severe heat is being seen in the month of April itself. The temperature has reached 45 degrees Celsius in many cities. Due to westerly winds the atmosphere is feeling more hot. The Meteorological Department has warned of heat wave in many parts of the state from 22 to 26 April.
Forecast of strong winds along with heat in Rajasthan
Even in Rajasthan, heat is continuously breaking records. The temperature is increasing rapidly in many cities including Jaipur, Jodhpur and Bikaner. According to the Meteorological Department, the effect of heat wave will continue in many districts between April 23 and 25. Strong winds can blow at a speed of 20 to 30 kilometers per hour in Jodhpur division. However, these winds are not likely to provide much relief in the heat because the winds will also remain hot.
Rain and snowfall in hilly states
While the heat is troubling people in the plains, the weather in the Himalayan regions may remain a little respite. According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of light to moderate rain in the hilly states and snowfall in some high altitude areas between April 24 and 28. Due to this, the temperature of the mountainous areas may drop and the weather may remain pleasant.
