Today’s weather: There will be relief from the scorching heat on 27th May! IMD issued rain alert

New Delhi: According to the latest update of India Meteorological Department (IMD), the weather will be changed in many parts of the country on May 27. The effect of severe heat and heat wave will continue in North-West and Central India.

At the same time, rain, storm and thunderstorm activities will be seen in the North-East, South and hilly states. IMD has issued an alert regarding strong winds, lightning and heavy rain in many areas.

Chances of relief from heat in North India    

Heat wave may continue in Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan and Western Uttar Pradesh on Wednesday. The mercury is expected to reach near 45 degrees Celsius in many areas of Rajasthan. There will be heat wave conditions in Punjab and Haryana also.

However, at some places there may be some relief from dusty storm and light rain in the evening. Light rain with thunderstorms and winds at a speed of 40 to 50 kilometers per hour are expected in Delhi-NCR.

Rain and hail in the mountains! But the effect of heat wave in the plains  

There may be rain and hailstorm in the hilly areas of Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. At the same time, hot winds will cause trouble in the plains. The weather will change rapidly in Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, West Bengal and Chhattisgarh.

There is a possibility of rain, strong winds and lightning in these states. IMD has advised farmers and those working outdoors to remain alert.

There will be clouds in the middle of summer in Central India   

There will be intense heat during the day in some parts of Madhya Pradesh, but there is a possibility of cloud cover and light rain in the evening. Even in Vidarbha and Marathwada, heat and humidity can make people miserable.

Monsoon active in South India   

Rain activities will remain intense in Kerala, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Coastal Andhra Pradesh. Due to the activity of south-west monsoon, heavy rains are expected in many districts of Kerala. There may be heavy rain with thunder in the coastal areas of Karnataka including Bengaluru.

There are chances of rainfall along with strong winds in some parts of Tamil Nadu and Telangana. Fishermen have been advised not to venture into the sea as the sea may remain rough in the Arabian Sea and along the southern coasts.

Heavy rain alert in Northeast   

Heavy to very heavy rains may continue in Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura. There is a possibility of waterlogging and landslides in many areas. The Meteorological Department has asked the people living on the river banks to be careful.
