Top 10 Cars: Maruti Suzuki has once again dominated the Indian market with its impressive performance in the July 2026 car sales report. Six of the company’s popular models have made it to the list of top 10 best-selling cars. Last month, the Maruti Suzuki Dzire emerged as the number one car in the country with strong sales of 23,791 units, registering a substantial growth of 14% year-on-year.
The WagonR is at the second position in the top 10 list, followed by the Ertiga at the third, the Swift at the fourth and the Tata Punch at the fifth. Hatchbacks and SUVs like the Maruti Suzuki Fronx, Baleno, Hyundai Creta, Tata Nexon and Mahindra Scorpio have also made it to the top 10 list and, interestingly, all the cars on this list have seen a significant increase in annual sales.
Maruti Suzuki Dzire
In July 2026, Maruti Suzuki’s attractive compact sedan, the Dzire, won the title of the best-selling car in the country. During this period, a total of 23,791 units of the Dzire were sold, which represents a year-on-year growth of 14%. With its excellent fuel efficiency, attractive looks and 5-star Global NCAP safety rating, it continues to be our king in the sedan segment.
Maruti Suzuki Wagon R
Maruti’s family favourite, the WagonR, was at the second spot in the top 10 best-selling cars list last month. It sold 23,398 units in July 2026. Sales have increased by a whopping 59 percent compared to July last year. Its spacious interior, petrol and CNG options, and consistent appeal have made it a popular choice for Indian families.
Maruti Suzuki Ertiga
The country’s most popular 7-seater MPV, Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, performed well in July 2026, securing the third spot in the list of top 10 best-selling cars. A total of 21,606 units were sold during the period, which is a 30 percent increase over July 2025. The demand for Ertiga continues to grow due to its low price and being an excellent option for large families.
Maruti Suzuki Swift
Maruti Suzuki’s sporty hatchback , the Swift, secured the fourth spot in the top 10 list last month. A total of 21,538 units of the Swift were sold in July 2026, which represents a significant growth of 52% over the previous year. The car’s popularity among the youth and its new generation model are the major reasons behind its success.
Tata Punch
Tata Motors’ micro SUV Punch (including EV variants) is at the 5th position in the list of top 10 best-selling cars in July last year. It sold 21,313 units in July 2026. The special thing is that this model has registered the highest year-on-year growth of 98 percent, which clearly shows that its popularity continues among SUV lovers in the Indian market.
Maruti Suzuki Fronx
Maruti Suzuki’s crossover SUV, the Renault, was at the sixth position in July 2026. Sales of 19,473 units in July 2026 were 51% higher than July last year. The vehicle, which is sold through Nexa dealerships, is proving to be a big favorite among customers.
Maruti Suzuki Baleno
Maruti Baleno, which has established its dominance in the premium hatchback segment, was at number 7 in the top 10 list last month. A total of 18,241 units of Maruti Baleno were sold in July 2026, registering a strong sales growth of 46% over the previous year. Its stylish design and modern features make it unique.
Hyundai Creta
The king of the mid-size SUV segment, the Hyundai Creta (including the EV variant), secured the 8th position in July 2026. A total of 18,088 units of the Creta were sold last month, registering a modest growth of 7%. The SUV remains a top choice for buyers due to its features and luxury.
Tata Nexon
Tata Motors’ popular compact SUV, the Nexon (with ICE and EV versions), was ranked 9th in July 2026. A total of 17,471 units of the Nexon were sold during the period, which represents a huge growth of 36% over the previous year. Its key features are its safety and robust design.
Mahindra Scorpio
Mahindra Scorpio (Scorpio-N and Scorpio Classic) is at number 10 in the list of top 10 best-selling cars. A total of 16,009 units of this powerful SUV were sold in July 2026, registering a 16% increase in sales over the previous year. Its robust image and strong road presence are receiving a good response.
