Toyota Hyryder Aero Black Edition Launched: Costs Rs 31,999 More Than Regular SUV

Toyota has added another limited-run styling package to the Urban Cruiser Hyryder, this time called the Aero Black Edition. It costs Rs 31,999 over the price of the donor SUV and is available only with Midnight Black G and V grades, covering both the Neo Drive and strong-hybrid powertrains.

The important detail is that this is not a new mechanical variant. There is no extra power, suspension change or new drivetrain. The Aero Black Edition is a Toyota Genuine Accessories package intended to make the Hyryder look darker and a little more aggressive.

The regular Hyryder range currently starts at Rs 11.31 lakh, ex-showroom. The Aero Black package is added to the applicable G or V variant and will remain on sale only while stocks last. Dealers can also add an All Black Package at extra cost.

The package concentrates almost entirely on the exterior. Up front, Toyota adds a black upper grille garnish, front spoiler and headlamp garnishes. At the rear, there is a black tailgate garnish, rear spoiler and an Aero Black limited-edition badge.

There are no performance changes. This is for someone who already wants a Midnight Black Hyryder and prefers a more heavily blacked-out appearance without sourcing aftermarket parts separately.

Availability is limited to the higher G and V trims in Midnight Black, so buyers of the lower E and S grades cannot add this specific edition package through the same offer.

The Aero name is not new to the Hyryder. Toyota launched an Aero Edition accessory package in October 2025 at exactly the same Rs 31,999 price. That earlier kit was available across all Hyryder grades and in White, Silver, Black and Red.

The 2025 package used front and rear spoilers and side skirts. The new Aero Black Edition focuses on a single body colour, restricts availability to G and V trims and adds black grille, headlamp and tailgate garnishes.

So this is better viewed as a new styling combination under a familiar Aero badge rather than a replacement model or major facelift.

Underneath, the Hyryder continues with its two main petrol-based powertrains. The strong hybrid combines a 1.5-litre petrol engine with an electric motor and e-drive transmission. Its certified fuel-efficiency figure is 27.97 km/l, which remains one of the Hyryder’s strongest selling points.

The Neo Drive uses a 1.5-litre K-series petrol engine with an integrated starter generator. It is offered with a five-speed manual or six-speed automatic, while an all-wheel-drive configuration is also available in the range.

Equipment still depends on the G or V grade selected. Higher versions can offer a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, 9-inch touchscreen, wireless phone charging and a 360-degree camera, but the styling pack does not alter the underlying specification.

The timing is also interesting because the Hyryder is now a major volume model for Toyota. It has crossed the two-lakh cumulative sales mark since its 2022 launch. In July 2026, Toyota dispatched 7,187 Hyryders, making it the company’s second-largest contributor behind the combined Innova range, although July volume was down 18 per cent year on year.

The Aero Black Edition is therefore a showroom styling option rather than a product reset. Engines, equipment structure and core positioning remain unchanged.

At Rs 31,999, whether it makes sense comes down almost entirely to taste. There is no hidden mechanical upgrade here. What the customer is paying for is a factory-backed black accessory treatment, a limited-edition badge and the convenience of having the look fitted through Toyota rather than building something similar outside the dealership.
