Traffic police clamp down on speeding in Kanpur, action taken against 107 vehicles

Kanpur. The traffic police on Wednesday launched a massive campaign to curb road accidents in the city and against speeding. National Highway-19, National Highway-34 And overspeeding vehicles were monitored with the help of interceptor mobile at Ganga Barrage. During the campaign, enforcement action was taken against 107 vehicles.

According to the traffic police, a total of 76 vehicles including 4 trucks, 3 buses and 69 four-wheelers/two-wheelers were challaned for overspeeding on National Highway-19. At the same time, challan action was taken against 31 vehicles at Ganga Barrage for overspeeding.

Traffic Police Commissionerate Kanpur Nagar has appealed to the drivers to compulsorily follow the traffic rules to reduce road accidents. Police appealed to the drivers not to drive on the wrong side, use helmet and seat belt, drive within the prescribed speed limit and always overtake from the right side.

Along with this, strict instructions have also been given to follow traffic signals and not to drive after drinking alcohol. Police said that following traffic rules is very important not only for the safety of the driver but also for the safety of the lives of other people walking on the road.
