Tragedy occurred before the funeral of Subedar Major, 4 including son died in ambulance accident

Sultanpur, 04 October 2026: The ambulance carrying the mortal remains of Subedar Major Satyawan from Chandigarh to Deoria met with an accident on the Purvanchal Expressway in the morning. Four people, including the son of a Subedar Major, were killed when an unknown vehicle hit an ambulance near the 79.6 kilometer mark in Haliyapur police station area. After the accident, the police took possession of the dead bodies and took necessary legal action.

The martyr's son and driver died on the spot.

According to the police, at around 8:15 am on Sunday morning, the mortal remains of Subedar Major Satyavan, a resident of 'Gaila Dudhila' village under Rudrapur police station in Deoria district, was being taken from Chanddigarh to his native village. For this, an ambulance with registration number T0626HR7553BJ was used. Subedar Major's son Gaurav Singh, his brother Rajan Chaudhary, his nephew Ram Samuj Singh and driver Jaspal were traveling in the ambulance. On the way, an unknown vehicle hit the ambulance near the 79.6 km mark on the Purvanchal Expressway.

Two family members died during treatment

In this accident, Gaurav Singh and driver Jaspal died on the spot. Seriously injured Rajan Chaudhary and Ram Samuj Singh were taken to Pithala Kumarganj Hospital for treatment, where both of them died during treatment. The family was deeply saddened and shocked by the death of these four persons.

Police kept the dead body with due respect

The police have informed the family members of the deceased about this incident. The mortal remains of Subedar Major Satyavan have been kept safely and with due respect in the premises of the police station. Necessary action is being taken regarding the accident and search for the unknown vehicle. Law and order has been maintained at the spot.
