Scooby-Doo and Transformerstwo iconic franchises, are joining forces. The new Transformers/Scooby-Doo crossover comes courtesy of a new toy from Hasbro.
Scooby-Doo joins the Autobots for a mystery only Transformers can solve
Hasbro has unveiled the Transformers x Scooby-Doo Mysterious Prime & Automutt action figure set. The first is a 6-inch “Mysterious Prime” figure that, like a Transformer, converts from an action-ready robot into a Mystery Machine-inspired van mode. The transformation takes 19 steps, but that’s not where the action stops. After converting to robot mode, users can swap its head with four replacements included in the box. These include the four iconic Scooby-Doo characters Shaggy, Fred, Daphne, and Velma.
Automutt, on the other hand, is exactly what it sounds like. It’s an action figure that transforms between a dog resembling Scooby-Doo and a box of Scooby Snacks. The transformation takes just 6 steps. The toy set includes camera and flashlight accessories.
This marks the first crossover between the two franchises. The collaboration comes at a fitting time as both franchises look to deliver new scripted content to viewers. Netflix is making a new live-action Scooby-Doo series. The streamer recently unveiled the first look at the dog that will portray the canine. Previously, the franchise released the animated adaptation called Scoob!.
Meanwhile, the Transformers franchise has multiple films in development. One of those projects is being written by the scribe of an HBO show, and serves as a follow-up to 2023’s Transformers: Rise of the Beasts. A Transformers/G.I. Joe crossover is also in the works. The Transformers film franchise has collectively grossed over $5 billion worldwide.
