Technology Desk: Huawei has launched its new premium tri-fold smartphone Mate XT 2 Ultimate Design. This is the company's second tri-fold phone. The phone has been introduced with many upgrades in terms of design, display, camera and performance.
The phone gives a tablet-like experience when fully opened. Its thickness when unfolded is said to be only 3.5mm, whereas when folded it becomes about 12.3mm thick.
10.2 inch large OLED screen
The Huawei Mate XT 2 Ultimate Design sports a 10.2-inch OLED display when fully opened. It has 3K resolution and LTPO adaptive refresh rate from 1Hz to 120Hz.
When the phone is folded, a 6.5-inch cover screen is available on the outside. It has 120Hz refresh rate and 2442×1140 pixel resolution. The peak brightness of the display is said to be up to 6,500 nits.
The feature of privacy screen is also provided in the phone. Through this, the content is not easily visible when the screen is viewed from the side.
Powerful processor with 16GB RAM
For performance, the phone has been provided with Kirin 9050 Pro chipset. It comes with 16GB RAM. Different variants have been introduced for storage.
The company has also made changes in the folding mechanism of the phone. Huawei claims that the new design will improve the protection of the display while folding and unfolding.
50MP triple rear camera
A triple camera setup has been provided at the back of the phone for photography. It has a 50MP main camera, which comes with variable aperture, OIS and RYYB color filter.
Apart from this, a 40MP ultra-wide camera and 50MP periscope telephoto camera with 3.5x optical zoom is provided. The phone has an 8MP front camera for selfies and video calls.
5,600mAh battery and 66W fast charging
Huawei Mate XT 2 Ultimate Design has a 5,600mAh battery. It supports 66W wired SuperCharge and 50W wireless SuperCharge. The weight of the phone is around 299 grams. It has got IP58 and IP59 rating for protection against dust and water.
