Some dictatorial people’ without naming Pope Leo targeted Trump, said – saddened by violence in the name of religion
Trump Pope Leo XIV Clash: The ongoing war of words between Donald Trump, the leader of the world’s most powerful military force, and Pope Leo XIV, the religious head of 1.4 billion Catholics, has become more intense than before. In recent times, the ongoing dispute between the two regarding Iran seems to be deepening. Meanwhile, Pope Leo has once again targeted the American President.
In a speech in Cameroon during his tour of Africa, Pope Leo said the world was heading towards ruin because of “a few dictators” who were spending billions on war. Although he did not name any leader, his statement is being considered an attack on Trump’s policies.
It is wrong to justify violence in the name of God.
Addressing people at St. Joseph’s Cathedral in Bamenda city of Cameroon, Pope Leo said that some world leaders are misusing religion to further their military, economic and political interests. He said that justifying violence in the name of God and purity is extremely worrying. The Pope also lamented that while huge amounts of money are being spent on war and destruction, there remains a lack of resources for treatment, education and social reform.
Pope Leo also said that the world may be in crisis due to some powerful and people with “dictatorial tendencies”, but humanity is still alive because many people believe in helping each other. These days the Pope is on an 11-day tour of Africa and is continuously appealing for peace and restraint.
Trump hit back at the Pope
On the other hand, US President Donald Trump also reacted to the Pope’s statement. He said the Pope must understand the reality of this “dangerous world.” While talking to reporters, Trump said that the Pope has every right to express his opinion on world issues, but he should also keep in mind the ground situation.
Referring to Iran, Trump claimed that thousands of people have died there in recent months and the situation is very serious. He said that this is the real world, where decisions are difficult and safety has to be given priority.

Earlier the Pope was told that he was weak.
Earlier, Trump had even called the Pope “weak” and “wrong”, but now he showed some leniency and said that he is not having any personal dispute with the Pope. Despite this, ideological differences between the two are clearly visible, especially on global issues like war and peace.
