Important visit of Turkish Foreign Minister to Dhaka, big meeting with PM Tariq Rehman and Islamic leaders
Diplomatic Turkey Bangladesh News: Diplomatic relations between Turkey and Bangladesh are becoming deeper. Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan has reached Dhaka on a three-day visit. He met Prime Minister Tariq Rehman and discussed increasing mutual cooperation in many fields. Both the leaders have promised to give a new direction to the economic partnership.
This visit has raised strong hopes for a new partnership in defense and education. BNP came to power in February after the fall of Sheikh Hasina’s government. The arrival of BNP is indicating a major change in the foreign policy of Bangladesh. Bangladesh’s inclination is now rapidly moving towards Turkey and Pakistan.
Special meeting with fundamentalist leaders
Turkey’s Foreign Minister has had a special meeting with top leaders of Jamaat-e-Islami. He held detailed talks with a delegation of six people including Chief Shafiqur Rehman. The talks mainly focused on massive cooperation in industry, education, health and defence. There are strong expectations of big agreements in these areas in the future.
On Friday, a delegation of the National Citizen Party also met Foreign Minister Fidan. This special group was completely led by party convenor Nahid Islam. It was told on X that Fidan has given a big congratulations to the NCP leaders. This congratulations was given for his role in the July Revolution which brought down Hasina’s government.
Main focus on defense relations
The Foreign Minister held an important meeting with Bangladesh Foreign Minister Khalilur Rahman. In this meeting, both the countries have talked about strengthening relations in the defense sector. Turkey has reiterated its special commitment to increase its defense cooperation with Bangladesh. These important steps will provide new strength to the armies of both the countries in the future.

Made a detailed tour of Rohingya camp
Fidan arrived on Thursday night on a three-day visit and went to Cox’s Bazar on Friday. There he visited Rohingya camps and witnessed the relief work of Turkish agencies. These included all the major institutions of Turkey like TIKA, AFAD and Turkish Red Crescent. He also took full stock of the health services provided by Turkie-Bangladesh Hospital.
