‘Sairab’ actor Rohit Chandel arrested: Mumbai Police caught him during the shooting, action taken in POCSO Act case

According to media reports, a complaint was registered against Rohit on July 10 under the POCSO Act (Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses). On July 10 itself, he was arrested from his house in Dahisar and presented in the Special POCSO Court. Currently the actor is in custody.

The actor is accused of repeatedly harassing the minor girl by calling her from his number. When the minor stopped picking up his phone, the actor started harassing him by calling repeatedly from another number. According to the complaint, on July 5, Rohit tried to forcefully stop the girl near her house and later chased her. When the minor protested, the actor abused and beat him while arguing. Pant Nagar police station has registered a case against the actor under section 78 of the Indian Code of Justice (BNS), stalking (stalking) and section 115(2) after receiving a complaint by a minor resident of Mumbai’s eastern suburbs on Friday.
