TVS iQube Gets A New Middle Child: The S 4.7 kWh Trim Priced At 1.37 Lakh

TVS Motor Company has added a new variant to the iQube electric scooter range. The iQube S 4.7kWh went on sale on May 6, 2026, priced at Rs 1,37,142 ex-showroom in Delhi with subsidies. It sits between the existing 3.5kWh versions and the top-spec iQube ST 5.3kWh, and it fills what was a fairly obvious gap in the line-up.

The main number here is range. The new iQube S 4.7kWh claims 175km on the IDC cycle. That puts it 30km above the 3.5kWh version’s 145km figure, while still sitting below the ST 5.3kWh’s 212km. In simple terms, TVS is offering a stronger battery option without pushing the buyer all the way to the most expensive variant.

This new version effectively replaces the earlier iQube S 3.5kWh. That older model had been priced at Rs 1,39,642 and claimed 145 Kms of range. The new scooter improves the headline range by 30km while also pushing top speed up from 78 Kph to 82 Kph.

For buyers comparing variants inside the same family, that makes the S 4.7kWh a more meaningful upgrade than a simple trim shuffle. That is important because the iQube range had begun to look crowded at the bottom and too widely spaced near the top.

The new S 4.7kWh makes the ladder easier to understand. The entry variants remain focused on affordability, while this new model now serves buyers who want more usable range without spending ST money.

The bigger battery naturally brings one compromise. Charging time has gone up. TVS says the new 4.7kWh pack takes 4 hours from 0 to 80 percent. The earlier 3.5kWh version could do the same in roughly 3 hours. So the buyer is gaining 30km of claimed range, but also accepting a longer charging window.

Whether that matters depends on use. For someone charging overnight at home, the difference may not feel significant. But for a rider with a tighter daily charging window, it is still worth noting.

The rest of the scooter stays largely unchanged. It uses the same hub-mounted motor, the same frame, and the same broad layout. TVS quotes a 0-40kph time of 4.3 seconds, a kerb weight of 128.8kg, a 770mm seat height and 32 litres of under seat storage. Features include a 7-inch TFT screen, turn-by-turn navigation, call alerts, USB charging and reverse mode.

That is a commercially sensible move, especially since the iQube is now sold across more than 1,000 cities and through over 3,300 touchpoints. TVS also says the iQube family has crossed 9 lakh customers. At that scale, filling a pricing and range gap becomes more important than chasing novelty.

The full line-up now runs from Rs 1,11,422 for the 2.2kWh variant to Rs 1,62,000 for the ST 5.3kWh in Delhi with subsidies. The new S 4.7kWh sits close enough to the lower variants to feel attainable, but far enough from the ST to give buyers a real middle choice.
