Nagaram. These days, 2.5 lakh population of about 200 villages connected to Samesi power sub-station are troubled by undeclared power cuts. In the scorching heat, people's problems have increased due to power cuts and frequent supply disruptions as per the prescribed roster. The villagers allege that some employees of the sub-centre are arbitrarily disrupting the power supply. Despite complaints, a permanent solution to the problem is not being found.
According to the villagers, due to power failure many times during the day and night, fans, coolers, submersibles and water pumps in the houses stop working. Due to this, children, elderly and patients are facing the most problems. Even after electricity is restored, the problem of voltage fluctuations persists.
Despite fault at night, electricity continues to go off for hours
The jumper of the high tension line burnt near Hussainabad at around 12 o'clock on Tuesday night. It is alleged that the employees deployed in the night shift did not remove the fault in time, due to which electricity in about 50 villages was disrupted throughout the night. After rebuke from the junior engineer, the supply was restored in the morning by tying the jumper.
After this, at 7:48 am on Wednesday morning, there was a breakdown in the line of Bahrauli feeder near CPL College due to crow sticking. Despite removing the crowbar after about an hour, the fault remained. The crews started patrolling and restored power supply to other villages except Badeha around 10:30 am.
Junior Engineer Ashish Kumar said that due to the falling of a tree branch in Badeha, the line was not able to hold. The villagers have demanded from the responsible officials to ensure regular electricity supply as per the roster and to provide permanent solution to the frequent faults.
