Two days before NEET UG re-exam, student commits suicide in Ghaziabad, made video before death; Police engaged in investigation
Just two days before the NEET UG 2026 re-exam, a tragic incident has come to light from Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh. 22-year-old NEET aspirant Jatin Kumar, living in Pratap Vihar of Vijay Nagar police station area, allegedly committed suicide. After the incident, police have recovered a video from the spot, which was recorded by the student before his death. At present the police is investigating the authenticity of the video and the entire matter.
Dead body found in room in the morning
According to the police, Jatin Kumar was a resident of H-Block of Vijay Nagar and was preparing for the medical entrance exam NEET. Family members told that on Thursday night he was studying in his room and was also seen walking till late night.
When his family members came to wake him up on Friday morning, his dead body was found in the room. On receiving information, Vijay Nagar police station and forensic team reached the spot.

During the investigation, the police found a video of about one minute and four seconds from Jatin’s mobile phone. According to the police, in the video, Jatin shows his room and says that he is “thinking of doing something different today.” After this he also turned the camera towards the noose in the room.
In the video, the student also said that he was not under any kind of pressure and was not feeling stressed about the NEET exam. He told that his father had also advised him not to take stress regarding the examination.
Police is investigating every aspect
Police say that the authenticity of the video is being investigated. It is also being ascertained whether there was any other reason behind the incident. The noose and other evidence found from the room have also been sent for forensic examination.
Assistant Police Commissioner (Kotwali Nagar) Upasana Pandey said that the body has been sent for postmortem and the case is being investigated from every angle.

Jatin was the only son of his family. His father works in a government department, while his mother is a housewife. The entire family is in deep shock after the incident and is not in a position to talk to the media at present.
This incident has come to light at a time when the re-exam of NEET UG 2026 is to be held on June 21 and thousands of candidates are busy preparing for the exam.
