Two-hour wait for grilled pork banh mi by American chef in Ho Chi Minh City

Bre and Noah, a Canadian couple, discovered the stall during a trip around Vietnam. They arrived at 8:30 a.m. and waited two hours for their banh mi, having failed to get one on two earlier visits.

Kubanoff’s wife, Thuy (R), keeps track of pre-orders submitted via email or by customers waiting up to two hours in line. The couple prepare and serve every order themselves.

“I know it’s frustrating for customers to wait so long, but seeing how patient everyone is, I understand they love and appreciate the flavor of what we make,” Thuy says.
