What is the reason for sudden storm and rain in Delhi?
At the end of June, the temperature in Delhi was between 41 to 43 degrees. According to scientists, this extreme heat became the fuel for storms and rains. Moist air from the heated ground rose rapidly and released energy into the atmosphere. Cumulonimbus clouds are formed when western disturbances mix with moist winds coming from the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal. These clouds extend above 10 km, causing sudden strong thunderstorms and rain.
Heavy rain forecast for 5 days in Northeast and Bengal
According to IMD, there may be heavy to very heavy rain in the sub-Himalayan areas of Northeast India and West Bengal for the next 5 days.
