National Testing Agency (NTA) may soon start the online application process for UGC NET December 2026. Last year, the application process for the December session examination was started from October 7. On this basis, it is expected that this year also the notification of the examination can be issued in the beginning of October and with this the application process can start. Candidates are advised to keep an eye on the NTA website for official information related to the application.
Exam will be held from 14th to 19th December
The dates of UGC NET December 2026 exam have already been announced by NTA. According to the released examination calendar, the UGC NET December Cycle examination will be conducted from 14 December to 19 December 2026 at the designated examination centers across the country. After the start of the application process, candidates will have to fill the online form for the examination.
Candidates applying for UGC NET December 2026 must have passed post graduation in the relevant subject or should be studying in the final year. Apart from this, candidates who have done 4 year graduation are also eligible to appear in this examination. The maximum age of candidates applying for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) should not exceed 31 years. However, there is no upper age limit for NET.
Application fee will have to be paid according to category.
For UGC NET application, candidates have to pay the fee as per their category. The application fee for general or unreserved category candidates is fixed at Rs 1150. OBC and EWS category candidates will have to pay Rs 600, while for SC, ST and PH category candidates, the application fee is Rs 325. Fee can be paid through debit card, credit card, net banking or e-challan.
After the start of the application process, candidates must first visit the official website ugcnet.nta.ac.in. In the Latest News section on the home page of the website, “Registration for UGC-NET DEC 2026 is LIVE!” You have to click on the link. After this, you will have to register through the option “Register yourself for the above-mentioned examination” on the new page.
After completion of registration, the candidate will have to enter other information asked in the application form. After this, photograph and signature will have to be uploaded in the prescribed format. In the last step, the candidate will have to deposit the application fee as per his category. After paying the fee, submit the form and take a printout of it and keep it safe.
