Russia Ukraine War: Ukraine has accused America of indirectly helping Russia in its war efforts. Ukraine says major internet services were slowed down overnight and Kiev received no warning about the incoming missiles. Ukrainian officials also acknowledged that speed restrictions on Starlink services – which provide vital internet services to the country's war-fighting troops – disrupted drone missions on the front lines on Wednesday morning. They said it came as Western allies failed to warn about attacks on Ukraine's energy facilities for the second day in a row. In such a situation, the question is being raised whether America's President Donald Trump is making some move with Russian President Putin to win the midterm elections 2026. Is he benefiting Russia by putting pressure on Ukraine to end the war? If this is true, then the President of Ukraine is now trapped in Donald Trump's game, while on the other hand, the President of Russia Putin is going to be defeated.
Military-grade system messed up
Regarding the latest change, a senior Ukrainian official, speaking on condition of anonymity, told AFP that there have been two previous cases when the Americans did not warn about a Russian ballistic launch or a major ballistic attack on our energy sector, and in addition they also reduced the speed of Starlink. Elon Musk's company SpaceX (which owns Starlink satellites) imposed speed limits on some services. Presidential adviser Serhiy Beskrestnov claimed that their military-grade system stopped working when the drones flew at speeds of more than 100 mph.
Beskrestnov wrote on Telegram – Our defense forces did not receive any warning about this border, and this led to the interruption of many missions. Internet connection is vital to control Ukrainian drones that target Russian supply lines in occupied southern and eastern Ukraine. SpaceX did not immediately respond to a Reuters request for comment after US business hours.
The accusations come as heavy-handed Russian attacks overnight killed at least six people in Ukraine and knocked out power to parts of Kiev, while Vladimir Putin continued to ignore Donald Trump's 'energy ceasefire'. The Kremlin said it was “carefully” monitoring whether there was any change in Washington's support for Ukraine following Kiev's complaints.
Ukraine doubts America
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told journalists on Wednesday that we are closely monitoring all these things. It is too early to draw any systemic conclusions. Ukraine relies heavily on Western intelligence to detect Russian attacks, but new signs of tension with the US president have cast doubt on that relationship. At the same time, Washington has insisted that there has been no change in its policy of sharing intelligence information with Ukraine despite Kiev's allegations, while the European Union said that it has not received any information which would show that such help has been stopped.
America stopped sharing information
However, White House press secretary Katie Zakaria did not directly answer when asked in her first briefing on Tuesday whether Washington had stopped sharing intelligence with Kiev. He said that you will have to tell about this later. A Russian attack on a high-rise building in the Desnyansky district of Kiev killed two people, while another attack in Holosiivsky killed one person overnight.
Tremendous attack by ballistic missile
Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko wrote on Telegram that there has been a massive attack by ballistic missiles on energy facilities in Kiev and surrounding areas. Electricity supply has been disrupted in the capital. He appealed to the people to stay in the shelter. DTEK, Ukraine's largest private energy company, said on Telegram that the attack caused emergency power cuts in Darnitsky, Dniprovsky, Pechersky and Solomiansky districts, as well as parts of Holosiivsky district.
