UP DA Hike: Yogi government has good news for government employees, increased dearness allowance by two percent

Lucknow. Giving relief to the state employees, the UP Government has announced to increase the Dearness Allowance (DA Hike) by two percent. An order has been issued in this regard. Lakhs of employees of the state will benefit from this decision. The increased allowance will be given to the employees from January 1, 2026.

The benefit of increased dearness allowance (DA Hike) will be given to state employees and aided educational and technical educational institutions, regular and full-time employees of urban local bodies, work charged employees and post holders working in UGC pay scales.

16 lakh employees and 12 lakh pensioners will benefit

This decision of the government will directly benefit 16 lakh employees and 12 lakh pensioners of the state. According to the order issued, the dearness allowance of the employees from January 1 to April 30 will be deposited in their provident fund account along with the arrears. Whereas the dearness allowance of May will be added to their salary and given in the month of June.

Earlier, after announcing increase in dearness allowance of seventh pay scale state employees on Diwali last year, the state government had issued an order to give increased rate of dearness allowance (DA) to fifth and sixth pay scale state employees also. After which dearness allowance at the increased rate was paid along with the October salary. DA of fifth pay scale employees was increased by eight percent and DA of sixth pay scale employees was increased by five percent.

These employees will get benefits

The benefit of increase in DA will be available to state employees, employees of aided educational and technical educational institutions, regular and full-time employees of urban local bodies, work charged employees and employees working in UGC Pay Scale.
