In this sequence, Samajwadi Party (SP) national president and former Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav has made an important announcement regarding Ayodhya, claiming to return to power in the state. He said that if his party comes to power, Ayodhya will be developed as a world class religious and spiritual city, where devotees coming from India and abroad can get better facilities and spiritual experience.

He said that with the blessings of Lord Shri Ram, his party will further strengthen the eternal tradition, faith and cultural pride of Ayodhya. Also, issues related to traditional rights, dignity and livelihood of local people will be given priority. He said that development will not be limited to infrastructure only, but participation and interests of the local community will also be ensured.

Ayodhya has been a central issue of Uttar Pradesh politics for a long time and questions of development along with religious tourism have also been in constant discussion. A response has also come from the Uttar Pradesh government on this issue. State government minister Sanjay Nishad said that Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has already made it clear that there will be a fair investigation into any irregularity and if anyone is found guilty, action will be taken against him as per law. He appealed to the opposition to wait for the investigation to be completed instead of taking political advantage on religious and sensitive issues.
