UP government laid emphasis on clean-green schools, 1.62 lakh schools participated in the special rating.

Under the leadership of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, there has been widespread participation in promoting cleanliness, green environment and environmental consciousness in the schools of Uttar Pradesh. In 'Clean and Green School Rating' i.e. SHVR (SHVR-Clean and Green School Rating) 2026-27, till October 5, the process has started in 1,86,196 out of total 2,66,408 schools of the state, registration of 1,79,793 schools and participation has been completed by 1,62,054 schools.

Recorded school participation

The final completion percentage of the state has been recorded at 60.83 percent. This status of SHVR 2026-27 underlines the widespread participation towards cleanliness, green environment and environmental consciousness in the schools of Uttar Pradesh. Many districts of the state have shown remarkable performance and registered their active participation in the direction of clean and green schools. Through SHVR, the participation of schools in the activities and standards set to encourage clean and green environment in schools is recorded.

Condition of schools in 75 districts

The district wise report shows the status of schools in all 75 districts of the state. In district wise data, Kanpur Dehat stands first in the state with final completion percentage of 83.17 percent. Out of total 2,876 schools in the district, 2,392 schools have registered completion. Muzaffarnagar is at second place with 82.24 percent and Bhadohi is at third place with 77.62 percent. After this, Kaushambi is in the top five with 75.22 percent and Lalitpur with 73.78 percent.

On the basis of final completion percentage, the top-10 are Kanpur Dehat (83.17 percent), Muzaffarnagar (82.24 percent), Bhadohi (77.62 percent), Kaushambi (75.22 percent), Lalitpur (73.78 percent), Barabanki (73.52 percent), Rampur (71.90 percent), Mau (71.50 percent), Bulandshahr (70.25 percent) and Saharanpur (68.90 percent) is included.

Widespread participation of schools has been recorded from Purvanchal to Western Uttar Pradesh. The final completion percentage has been recorded at 67.58 percent in Varanasi, 68.29 percent in Mirzapur, 68.51 percent in Sonbhadra, 60.83 percent in Gorakhpur, 70.25 percent in Bulandshahr and 68.90 percent in Saharanpur. These figures reveal the active participation of schools in different areas towards clean and green schools.

Emphasized active participation

Of the total 2,66,408 schools in the state, the process of SHVR started in 1,86,196 schools, while 1,79,793 schools registered and 1,62,054 schools completed it. This data underlines the widespread and active participation of schools towards SHVR 2026-27 across the state.

Basic Education Minister Sandeep Singh said, “Clean and green schools are the foundation of a healthy and conscious generation. Cleanliness, green environment and environmental consciousness are being further strengthened in schools through SHVR.”

Director General School Education Monica Rani said, “SHVR is an effective medium to make schools proactive towards cleanliness and environmental standards. Widespread participation will accelerate positive change towards clean and green schools.”
