Uttar Pradesh Hike: The state government has intensified its preparations to bring smiles on the faces of lakhs of government servants of Uttar Pradesh during the festive season. On the auspicious occasion of Diwali, more than 12 lakh state employees of the state have strong hopes of getting huge financial benefits. At the government level, activities regarding giving ad-hoc bonus to non-gazetted employees as well as increasing dearness allowance are progressing rapidly. This step of the government will not only brighten the lamps of happiness in the homes of the employees, but will also provide additional money in their hands for festive shopping.
There is a stir in the finance department regarding bonus.
Like every year, this time too the state government is going to gift bonus to its non-gazetted employees before Diwali. According to information received from sources in the Finance Department, the process of preparing the proposal in this regard has reached the final stage. It is believed that depending on their post and pay scale, a bonus amount ranging from Rs 3400 to Rs 7000 can be provided to the employees. This amount is sent directly to the bank accounts of the employees so that they can easily meet their family needs before the festival. The intention of the government is that there should not be any financial hindrance in the happiness of the festival.
Three percent increase in dearness allowance and relief expected
Apart from the bonus, the regular employees and pensioners of the state are waiting for a three percent increase in Dearness Allowance i.e. DA and Dearness Relief i.e. DR. Following the footsteps of the Central Government, the State Government can also take this decision to provide relief to the standard of living of its employees from the pressure of inflation. After this increase, there will be a significant increase in the monthly salary of the employees. Senior citizens receiving pension will also be of great help by getting increased dearness relief. It is being decided at the government level from which date this increase will be considered effective and how the arrears amount will be paid.
Benefits will be added to the salary in November
If a formal mandate is issued from the government level immediately after Dussehra or before the last week of October, then its direct benefits will be visible to the employees in the salaries they receive in November. The salary for the month of October, which will be credited to the accounts in the first week of November, will include the amount of increased allowance. Apart from this, if the arrears are approved then it will also be deposited in the employees' account. The files are being disposed of expeditiously at the officer level so that all the formalities are completed within the stipulated time and the employees can get the benefits on time.
Relief in honorarium of 4 lakh outsourced workers also
This time Diwali is going to be special not only for the permanent and regular employees, but also for about four lakh outsourced employees providing their services in various departments. A plan has been made to improve the remuneration of these contract and outsourced employees, who have been waiting for an honorarium increase for a long time. The government is considering bringing positive changes in their minimum honorarium and allowances. If this proposal is approved before the festival, it will prove to be a great support for the families of these contract workers working at the lower level.
Eagerly waiting for the official mandate
Employees organizations and lakhs of families across the state are now only waiting for the official announcement to be issued by the government. There is a strong discussion in all the departments from the Secretariat to the district headquarters as to when this file gets the green signal from the Chief Minister's Office. Departmental officials say that the order will be issued well in advance of the festival so that the treasury and accounts departments can complete the process of passing the bill on time. Overall, this Diwali can bring a double packet of happiness for every category of employees associated with the government system of Uttar Pradesh.
