Keeping in mind the continuously decreasing indigenous breed of cows in the state, the Uttar Pradesh government has started ‘Mukhyamantri Pragatisheel Pashupalak Protsahan Yojana’. Under this scheme, financial assistance is being given to cattle farmers for rearing high quality indigenous cows.

The main objective of this scheme is to increase the number of indigenous breed of cows in the state and promote indigenous milk production. Which cows will get benefit?

  • The benefit of Chief Minister Progressive Animal Husbandry Promotion Scheme will be given only on some special indigenous breed of cows.
  • These include cows of Gir, Sahiwal, Tharparkar, Haryana and Gangatiri breeds.
  • If the milk production of these cows is as per the standards set by the government, then financial incentives will be given to the cattle farmers.

How many cows will a cattle farmer get profit from?

According to the rules of the scheme, a cattle farmer can get incentive amount on maximum two cows. Also, if a cow gives birth to her first, second or third calf, the benefit of this scheme will be given only once in her entire lifetime.

Who can apply?

  • To avail the benefits of the scheme, the applicant must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Apart from this, it is necessary to apply within 45 days from the date of calving of the cow.
  • Please note that applications made after the prescribed deadline will not be accepted.

How to apply?

  • Animal farmers can apply for this scheme both online and offline.
  • Online application can be made on the official website of the government.
  • If the portal is not fully operational, the application form can be filled and submitted to the office of the Chief Development Officer (CDO) of the concerned district.
  • The facility to send the application form through registered post is also available.
