UP becomes engine of development through skills and security: CM Yogi
UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said on Tuesday on the occasion of World Youth Skills Day-2026 that the future of a state is bright only when the youth get equal opportunities and a strong base for skill development. He said that Uttar Pradesh is today converting its huge youth population into ‘demographic dividend’ and giving new impetus to the economy through skill development.
During this, the Chief Minister, while targeting the state governments before 2017, said that at that time the youth were facing the crisis of education, employment, security and identity, whereas today the state has become a center of investment, employment and skill development.
State with the largest youth workforce in the world
The Chief Minister said that Uttar Pradesh is not only the country but also the state with the largest youth work force in the world. The government is working to take the state’s economy to new heights by linking this youth power with skill development and its positive results are visible today.
He said that before the year 2017, the youth of the state were insecure about their future. The education system was in bad shape, there was no effective system of skill development and employment opportunities were also limited. He alleged that there was a lack of transparency in government jobs and recruitment processes were surrounded by controversies, due to which the future of the youth was affected. Yogi said that the problem was not of Uttar Pradesh, but of the working style and thinking of the governments of that time.
Investment environment created after law and order improved
He said that a government which cannot provide employment to the youth, forces artisans to migrate and ignores the farmers, cannot live up to the expectations of the people. The Chief Minister said that after the law and order situation in the state improved, an investment environment was created and the confidence of big investors increased. He said that strong security system and active MSME sector serve as the basis for investment. Earlier, due to insecurity, investment did not come and small industries were also affected, whereas today Uttar Pradesh is becoming a major center of investment and industrial development.
He said that today Banarasi saree is gaining global recognition whereas earlier Banaras was recognized for different reasons. Similarly, the image of Azamgarh has also changed and a new environment of development and security has been established in various areas of the state. The Chief Minister said that the aim of the state government is to establish Uttar Pradesh as the biggest economic power of the country by providing skills, employment and respectable opportunities to the youth.
