UP News: Chief Minister Teacher Cashless Medical Scheme, started under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in Uttar Pradesh, is progressing rapidly. Under the scheme, e-KYC of more than 5.23 lakh teacher-personnel and their dependents has been completed in the Basic and Secondary Education Department within just 22 days of its launch. In the Higher Education Department, in just four days of the launch of the scheme, about 47 percent of the eligible beneficiaries have completed the e-KYC process. After completion of e-KYC, beneficiaries will get the facility of cashless treatment in the listed hospitals.
Target to connect 12.89 lakh beneficiaries with the scheme
The state government is running a campaign in mission mode to connect 12,89,018 eligible teachers and their dependents of the three education departments with this scheme. Till now 5,40,878 beneficiaries have completed e-KYC and joined the scheme. The government aims to provide strong health protection to teachers and non-teaching staff and free them from the worry of medical expenses.
Most progress in Basic Education Department
In the Basic Education Department, out of total 11,03,464 eligible beneficiaries, 4,57,390 people have completed e-KYC. The campaign is being regularly reviewed in all the districts at the department level so that every eligible teacher and employee can avail the benefits of the scheme on time. The government has instructed officials to ensure 100% registration.
Intensified campaign in secondary and higher education department also
So far, out of 1,47,543 eligible beneficiaries of the Secondary Education Department, 65,754 teachers-personnel have completed e-KYC. In the Higher Education Department, which started on July 26, out of 38,011 eligible beneficiaries, 17,734 people completed e-KYC within just four days, which is about 47 percent. This clearly shows the increasing participation of teachers towards the scheme.
Cashless treatment will be available after e-KYC
Director General School Education Monica Rani said that for effective implementation of the scheme, constant monitoring is being done at the government and department level. All districts and educational institutions have been instructed to complete e-KYC of every eligible teacher, non-teaching staff and their dependents as soon as possible. After completion of e-KYC, beneficiaries will get the benefit of cashless medical facility in the empaneled hospitals. The government believes that this scheme will prove to be an important step towards providing better health security to the education family of the state.
