There may be time left for Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections, but the political temperature in the state has already started rising. The round of claims and counterattacks is continuing rapidly in the political circles. Meanwhile, Samajwadi Party (SP) national president Akhilesh Yadav has made a very shocking claim regarding the seat distribution in the ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA).
Akhilesh Yadav has claimed quoting sources that NDA is going to distribute 162 seats among its allies. According to this assessment of the SP chief, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) itself may be seen contesting only 241 seats in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections 2027. Along with this, he also said that no matter how much BJP changes its strategy, it will not get any benefit from it.
How many seats does each party have?
Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav has made this big claim by writing a long post on the social media platform 'X'. He wrote that Bharatiya Janata Party, seeing its defeat in front and coming under pressure from PDA (Backward, Dalit, Minority), is changing its entire strategy of seat distribution. According to Akhilesh, BJP has taken the advice of some election experts to prevent its allies from leaving the alliance and on the same basis, a new mathematics of seats has been prepared for the allies.
According to Akhilesh Yadav's claim, BJP is going to give 73 seats to its key ally Jayant Chaudhary's party Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) in the upcoming elections. At the same time, Om Prakash Rajbhar's Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party (SBSP) may get 39 seats. The SP President also claimed that Dr. Sanjay Nishad's Nishad Party can field its candidates on 31 seats, while Anupriya Patel's Apna Dal (S) can get 19 seats.
What is the political strategy behind this?
Akhilesh Yadav has started a new political debate by making public this distribution of seats among his NDA allies. In fact, for some time now there have been reports of rhetoric regarding seat sharing between the Congress and the Samajwadi Party in the opposition 'India' alliance. On the contrary, till now no such rift has come to light openly among the constituent parties of NDA and they are busy in their preparations together. In such a situation, Akhilesh Yadav, while mentioning the pressure of PDA, has in a way taken a dig at this strategy of BJP.
However, the SP President also said that it may be nice to hear such distribution of seats among the NDA allies, but it is less than half in proportion to the total PDA population of the state. Therefore, this plan of BJP will also fail miserably. Along with this, he also enumerated many reasons for the failure of BJP's plan.
As soon as the post came, people started asking questions.
As soon as this post of Akhilesh Yadav surfaced on social media, users and common people started giving reactions. Many users asked the SP chief that you are telling the seat sharing formula of the opposition alliance, but when will you decide the distribution of seats among the parties of your alliance?
In the comment section, many people asked a direct question, 'Please tell me how many seats you are going to give to Congress in this election.' In fact, in the last few days, many provincial Congress leaders have staked claim to contest elections on half the seats in the state, after which the challenge for the Samajwadi Party leadership to manage its alliance has increased.
