Ration card holders in UP will get treatment facility up to Rs 5 lakh, Yogi government made a plan

UP News: A very big and relief news has come to the fore for crores of needy families of Uttar Pradesh. The government, which has been providing free food grains to the poor in the state till now, has also prepared to completely shoulder the concern about their health. Under the new initiative of the state government, now ration card holders will not only get food grains from their quota, but they will also be given the facility of free treatment up to Rs 5 lakh. The government plans to bring all the ration card holders of the state under the ambit of the Pradhan Mantri Ayushman Bharat Yojana. With this important step, crores of common citizens of the state will be freed forever from the huge expenses of expensive hospitals during serious illnesses.

The main objective is to save the poor from economic crisis

The cost of health services is continuously increasing and in case of any serious illness in any normal family, their entire savings gets wiped out. The biggest objective of the government behind bringing this new system is that the poor and limited income families of the state do not have to take loans during the treatment of diseases. When a family member falls ill, the medicine and hospital expenses break their back. To overcome this serious problem, the Uttar Pradesh government is preparing this strong security cover of health security so that every poor can get treatment facilities in better hospitals with respect.

More than 14 crore people of the state will get benefits

The network of ration distribution system in Uttar Pradesh is very large and crores of lives are directly connected to it. If we look at the figures, there are approximately 3.63 crore ration cards in the state including Antyodaya and eligible household categories. Overall, about 14.61 crore people are taking regular benefits of government ration through all these ration cards. Now when all these families will be directly linked to Ayushman Yojana, such a large population will directly get the benefit of health security. A huge positive change will be seen in the health infrastructure of the state if free treatment reaches the last rung of the society.

Families with less members will also get full benefits

There were many such restrictions in the system implemented till now due to which not all families could get the benefit of Ayushman card. Earlier, this facility was available only to most of the Antyodaya card holders and those families of eligible households whose names of six or more members were registered in their card. Due to this rule, lakhs of poor families with less members were left out of the benefits of this life-giving scheme. Now with the new scheme of the government this discrimination will be completely eliminated. Whether there are two or five members in the family, if they have a ration card then they will be considered fully entitled to free treatment up to Rs 5 lakh.

The proposal got in-principle approval and process

In principle consent has been received at the government level regarding this public welfare proposal. However, some important administrative steps are yet to be taken to get this entire system off the ground. The additional budget arising from the expansion of the scheme is yet to be managed and the technical rules of eligibility are yet to be finalised. The government is reviewing the financial provisions for this and a framework is being prepared in collaboration with the concerned departments. After all the necessary preparations are completed, the government will announce the formal date for implementing this system, for which the card holders will have to wait for a while.

General public will get huge benefits from free treatment

When ration card holders will start getting cashless treatment up to Rs 5 lakh, it will bring a big change in the lives of common citizens. In case of hospitalization due to any illness, the family will not have to worry about spending money from their own pocket. Along with government hospitals, free treatment can be provided with modern technologies in all the private hospitals associated with the scheme.

Expensive operations for major diseases related to heart, kidney, cancer and bones will now be possible without any financial hindrance. People's hard-earned money will not be spent on treatment and no one will be forced to mortgage their land, jewelery or house to save the lives of their loved ones.
