Lucknow, 29 June. The second phase of ‘School Chalo Abhiyan’ is going to start from July 1 to promote education in Uttar Pradesh. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has appealed to the people of the state, parents and teachers to make this campaign successful with public participation. He said that the aim of this campaign, which will run till July 15, is to ensure 100 percent enrollment from class 1 to 12, to re-engage school leavers with education and to speed up the admission process for the new academic session.
The Chief Minister said in his message that the month of July is not only the beginning of a new session but also an opportunity to give a new flight to the dreams of millions of children. He said that education is the biggest asset of life and school is the place where children’s knowledge, values, personality and character are formed. He said that in the ancient Gurukul tradition, students were given knowledge of various areas of life and today’s schools are the modern form of the same tradition, where discipline, moral values and the spirit of nation building are developed along with studies.
Mention of government schemes in the field of education
CM Yogi said that the state government is continuously working to strengthen the education system. Secondary schools are being modernized under ‘Project Alankar’. Efforts are being made to improve the quality of education through schemes like ‘Operation Kayakalp’, ‘Mission Prerna’, ‘Mission Nipun’ and ‘Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya Yojana’. He said that keeping in mind the better health of children, nutritious and hot cooked midday meals are also being provided in government schools.
Special appeal to teachers and parents
The Chief Minister asked the teachers to create such an environment in the school that children do not just consider school as a part of their daily routine, but come to school with enthusiasm. For this there is a need to promote sports and other creative activities. He urged the parents to evaluate their children not only on the examination marks, but on the basis of their hard work, dedication and self-confidence. Also called for ensuring regular school attendance of children and connecting children aged 3 to 6 years with ‘Bal Vatika’.
Call to make ‘School Chalo Abhiyan’ a mass movement
At the end of his message, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath appealed to the people of the state not to consider ‘School Chalo Abhiyan’ as just a government program, but make it a people’s movement. He said that if any child in the neighborhood has not yet been able to reach school, then it is the collective responsibility of the society to send him to school. The Chief Minister said that the future of Uttar Pradesh will be bright only when every child of the state moves forward by getting associated with education.
