Big success for UP STF, big success for STF in RO/ARO paper leak case; Accused Alok Mishra, absconding for 2 years, arrested
RO/ARO Exam Paper Leak: Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force (STF), achieving a major success in the much talked about paper leak case of Review Officer (RO) and Assistant Review Officer (ARO) Preliminary Examination-2023, has arrested the accused Alok Mishra, who was absconding for 2 years. The accused was arrested from Kotwali Nagar area of Mau district.
According to STF, Ghazipur resident Alok Mishra was associated with the gang that leaked the question papers of RO/ARO Exam-2023 and was under the surveillance of the investigating agencies for a long time. During a thorough investigation of the case, arrest action was taken after sufficient evidence was found against him.
Exam questions and answers were memorized in Bhopal hotel
Investigation has revealed that accused Alok Mishra and his relative Krishna Pandey had allegedly paid lakhs of rupees to brokers to obtain question papers before the examination. It is alleged that he was taught questions and their answers before the examination in a hotel in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh. Later, it was confirmed that the same questions were asked in the examination, which revealed the conspiracy of paper leak.
The accused admitted the crime
During interrogation, the accused admitted that a huge amount of money was collected from him and his relative in the name of providing examination papers. In this case, STF has already arrested many members of the gang, while accused Krishna Pandey has also been arrested earlier. Let us tell you that the question paper of RO/ARO Preliminary Examination-2023 held on 11 February 2024 had gone viral on social media. After the paper leak was confirmed, Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) had canceled the examination. Considering the seriousness of the matter, the investigation was handed over to STF.
Further strict action by police
A case has been registered against Alok Mishra in the Civil Lines police station of Prayagraj under various sections of fraud, forgery, Information Technology (IT) Act and Public Examination Act. STF says that further legal action is going on in the case and other people associated with the paper leak network are also being searched. The RO/ARO exam paper leak case has been one of the most talked about recruitment scams of the state, which had affected the future of lakhs of candidates. The arrest of the accused is being considered a major achievement of the investigating agency.
