UP T20 League 2026: The great battle of cricket will take place from August 14, Season 4 will be played for the first time in Lucknow and Kanpur.
Digital Desk: There is great news for Uttar Pradesh cricket lovers. UP T20 League Season-4 will be organized from 14 August to 6 September 2026. A total of 34 matches will be played in this tournament which will last for 24 days. These will include 13 double-header matchdays and 8 single-header matchdays.
This time the league will be held in two cities for the first time in its history. The first phase of the tournament will be played at the Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium, Lucknow, where a total of 22 matches will be played in 13 matchdays. After this the competition will shift to Green Park Stadium, Kanpur, where the remaining 12 matches will be held in 11 matchdays.
The opening ceremony and first match of Season 4 will be held in Lucknow, while the final match and closing ceremony will be held in Kanpur.
UPCA Governing Council approved many proposals
happened on sunday Many important proposals related to the fourth edition of the league were approved in the Governing Council meeting of Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association (UPCA). The tournament schedule, venues, player auction, operational arrangements, talent development and other topics related to the competition were discussed in detail in the meeting.
On this occasion, UPCA expressed its gratitude to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and BCCI Vice President and Rajya Sabha MP Rajeev Shukla for their continuous guidance, cooperation and support for the development of sports.
Mini auction will be held in Agra on 24th July
Mini auction for Season 4 will be organized in Agra on 24th July. A total of 45 player slots will be available across the six franchises of the league.
The Governing Council has also approved the retention policy, player selection process, catchment area trials, support staff selection guidelines and mini auction regulations. Its objective is to maintain transparency, fairness and high professional standards throughout the tournament.
Local players will get a bigger platform
This time also the catchment area model will be applicable in the UP T20 League. Through this, budding cricketers from different districts of Uttar Pradesh will get a better opportunity to showcase their talent and local talent will be promoted.
Suresh Raina will remain the brand ambassador
Former Indian cricketer Suresh Raina will remain the brand ambassador of UP T20 League this season also. The league’s popular official anthem “Khiladi Yahaan Banta Hai” will also continue in this edition.
Prize pool will be Rs 3 crore
A total prize pool of Rs 3 crore has been kept for the teams and players who have performed well in the league. The winning team will be given Rs 1 crore, while the runner-up will be given Rs 60 lakh. Apart from this, attractive cash prizes will also be given to other top performing teams and players.
