Lucknow, Read. There has been a rise in the export of bottled liquor from Uttar Pradesh. The state's exports reached 55.2 million US dollars in July 2026, which is 89.7 percent more than 29.1 million dollars in July last year. The country's overall exports increased by 25.7 percent during the same period.
UP at third place after Maharashtra-Punjab
UP's share in national exports increased from 8.3 to 12.5 percent and the state reached third place after Maharashtra and Punjab. In July, export of whiskey from the state increased by 78.8 percent and vodka by 100 percent. Between April and July, the state's liquor export increased by 56.4 percent, while the national growth was 20.4 percent. During this period the state earned additional foreign exchange of 66 lakh dollars.
According to Minister of State for Excise and Prohibition (Independent Charge) Nitin Agarwal, farmers are also getting benefits from the increase in exports. Due to increase in ENA production, demand for molasses from sugar mills and purchase of grains from grain-based distilleries has increased. According to Excise Commissioner Dr. Adarsh Singh, the export of bottled liquor declined by 11.7 percent across the country in July, while it increased in UP. Sectors like bottling, packaging, labeling, storage and transportation are also likely to benefit from increased exports. 25 thousand quintals of molasses were exported abroad from Basti, which earned additional foreign exchange of five lakh dollars.
