New Delhi: The online application process for the Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UPSSSC) Preliminary Eligibility Test (PET) 2026 will begin on August 3rd. Interested and eligible candidates will be able to apply until September 1st. A PET score is considered mandatory for various Group C recruitments, including Lekhpal, Village Development Officer (VDO), and Forest Guard.

Application Process to Begin on August 3rd

The Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UPSSSC) has issued a notification for PET 2026 and announced the application schedule. According to the Commission, online applications will begin on August 3rd, 2026, while the last date for submitting applications and fees is September 1st, 2026. Application modifications and fee adjustments will be available until September 8th.

10th Pass Candidates Will Get Opportunity

To apply for PET 2026, candidates must have passed at least 10th grade from a recognized board. Candidates who have passed high school or equivalent examination by the deadline can also apply. The minimum age limit is 18 years and a maximum of 40 years as of July 1, 2026. Candidates from reserved categories will receive age relaxation as per government regulations.

Applications will not be accepted without OTR

Before applying, candidates must complete the One-Time Registration (OTR). Candidates will then fill out the online application, pay the prescribed fee, and save a printout of the application form. The Commission has implemented the OTR system to make the application process more simple and transparent.

Application Fee and Important Dates

The application fee for General and OBC category candidates has been fixed at ₹185. The fee is ₹95 for Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe candidates, and ₹25 for Persons with Disabilities (PwD). The fee will be paid online through upsssc.gov.in.

PET Scores Will Be Valid for Three Years

UPSSSC has extended the validity period of PET scores. The exam scorecard will now be valid for three years from the date of result declaration. During this period, candidates will be able to apply for Lekhpal, Village Development Officer (VDO), Forest Guard, Junior Assistant, and other Group C positions based on their PET scores. This will eliminate the need for candidates to retake the exam every year and provide opportunities for multiple recruitments based on a single score.
