US Deal: Iran’s new maneuver on the Strait of Hormuz is a condition placed before America, will the war stop?

News India Live, Digital Desk: Amidst the ongoing tension in West Asia, Iran has put a big condition before America for completely opening the Strait of Hormuz. In this new peace proposal sent to Washington through Pakistan, Iran has said that it is ready to restore this important route for global oil supply, but in return America will have to end Iran’s ‘economic blockade’ immediately. Condition: First remove the blockade, nuclear issue later. The most surprising thing in this proposal sent by Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi is that Iran has currently discussed its ‘Nuclear Programme’. It is suggested to postpone it. Iran says tensions in the sea should be reduced first and passage should be made safe for merchant ships, while complex issues like the nuclear deal can be negotiated at a later stage. However, US President Donald Trump, while speaking to Fox News on Sunday (April 26, 2026), indicated that he will not back down until Iran agrees to completely stop its nuclear program. Hormuz’s ‘chokehold’ and global crisis Since February 2026, Iran has strengthened its hold on the Strait of Hormuz, which has affected about 20% of the world’s oil supply. In response, the US Navy has also laid siege to Iranian ports, which is being called ‘Dual Blockade’. Due to this tension, the prices of Brent Crude have crossed $107 per barrel. Iran is now struggling to get out of this blockade, because its economy is under huge pressure. Trump’s tough stance: ‘We have the cards’ Responding to the proposal, Donald Trump made it clear that America is in no hurry. “We have all the cards. If they want to talk, they can call us,” he said. Trump also made it clear that he is not in favor of any ‘raw deal’ with Iran that only opens the sea route but retains the nuclear threat. Meanwhile, the Iranian Foreign Minister is on a visit to Russia, where he is expected to seek support from President Vladimir Putin to end the impasse. Highlights of the proposal: Open passage: Promise to end the blockade of Hormuz for merchant ships. Key condition: Lifting of the blockade imposed by the US on Iranian oil and ports. Nuclear talks: Proposal to postpone the discussion on the nuclear program till the next round. Mediation: Pakistan, Oman and Qatar Efforts for dialogue continue.
