US Iran Tension: Despite the ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon, attacks continue and people are dying. In the latest attacks, an Israeli airstrike in the village of Al-Tiri in southern Lebanon killed Lebanese daily Al-Akhbar journalist Amal Khalil, while her fellow photographer Zainab Faraz was seriously injured. According to reports, the Israeli army says that its troops and air force attacked in southern Lebanon because Hezbollah had earlier violated the ceasefire.

Lebanese President Joseph Aoun has reacted sharply to the death of journalist Amal Khalil, calling it a ‘crime against humanity’. He said that Israel’s targeting of journalists is an attempt to hide the truth. Aoun wished for the speedy recovery of Zainab Faraz who was injured in this attack and sought intervention from the international community. He said that it is necessary to stop such attacks and those responsible should be punished.
