Sunday night passed without any American air strikes in Iran. Washington has currently put a stop to this war, which has entered its fifth month. According to reports, due to shortage of arms and ammunition, plans to carry forward the attacks have been put on hold.

This peace that has come after continuous American bombing for almost two weeks has once again raised hopes of returning to the negotiating table. However, American media says that a major reason for this ban is the pressure of decreasing stock of Patriot interceptor and other defensive weapons.

The violence over the strategically important Strait of Hormuz had derailed diplomatic efforts between Washington and Tehran. Soon this war was not limited to just this main route of oil supply, but spread to attacks on American military bases, commercial ships in the region and Gulf countries.

CNN quoted a Pentagon source as saying that the US military operation against Iran is currently on ‘hold’. According to ‘The New York Times’, plans to increase attacks have been postponed due to dwindling stocks of weapons. Apart from this, President Donald Trump also faces a big risk of a major war breaking out in the entire Middle East, the disintegration of the Gulf allies and new shocks to the global economy.

At a high-level meeting at the White House, both Vice President JD Vance and top US general Dan Kaine expressed deep concern over the further outbreak of war. General Kane assured Trump that the Army could successfully carry out available military options, but he also warned of its serious and dangerous consequences.

According to reports, the Pentagon had prepared a plan for attacks on the 14th night, but Trump rejected it to allow negotiations.

Meanwhile, the scope of the war has expanded to a new front. Yemen’s Iran-backed Houthi rebels claimed that they targeted Saudi Aramco’s bases in ‘Jizan’ and ‘Yanbu’ on Saturday. Greek Air Force personnel stationed in Saudi Arabia shot down two ballistic missiles and a drone in the air over Yanbu.

Iran’s Revolutionary Guards claimed that they have stopped four ships trying to pass through the ‘Strait of Hormuz’ in the last 24 hours.

Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said that Iran cannot be held responsible for this tension. While offering mediation between Houthi rebels and Riyadh (Saudi Arabia), he clearly said – ‘There is no military solution to this crisis.’
