Addressing a rally in Dalton, Georgia on October 16, he appealed to his supporters to cast as many votes as possible. Trump said that in this election people should think as if he himself is a candidate on the ballot.
Trump said that when he contests elections, he gets 49 percent more votes. He claimed that if his candidate was not there, people would not have come to vote in that number. Trump said that supporters will have to vote to carry forward the work done by his government.
'Can't let our work be taken away from us'
Trump said at the rally that this is perhaps the most important midterm election in America's history. He said that his government has done such work which has never been done before. He told his supporters that they must go to vote. Trump said that America has been made greater than before. Voting is necessary to take forward the achievements of his government. He also described the first two years of his tenure as very successful, although he also said that there are still four months left for the completion of the two years.
Some people protested during Trump's address. During this time many people were taken out of the venue. After this Trump said that these people had come to protest with money. He said that they are protesters who have brought money. We had two or three such people here.
Claims made on economy and employment
Referring to the American economy in the rally, Trump made many claims regarding employment, personal income and poverty rate. He said that more people are working in the country than ever before and personal income is at an all-time high. Trump also claimed that the poverty rate in America has reached its lowest level historically. He said that a large number of new factories are being built in the country. According to him, car and pharmaceutical companies are also making big investments.
During the rally, Trump also joked about changing the name of the Strait of Hormuz to 'Trump Strait'. He said that he has a golf course and a lake and now he also wants a Strait of Hormuz. Trump presented this idea in a humorous manner and said that now only one ocean is missing. Trump's main message at the rally was about voting in the upcoming midterm elections. Appealing to supporters to vote, he said that the future of his government's functioning is at stake in the elections.
