Bhopal. With the beginning of October, different colors of weather are being seen in Madhya Pradesh. The western parts of the state are affected by intense sunlight and heat, while the eastern districts are experiencing rains due to the active cyclonic circulation and trough line. The Meteorological Department has issued an alert of storm and rain in 12 districts of Eastern Madhya Pradesh on October 9, while the weather is likely to remain clear in most parts of the state from October 10.
According to the Meteorological Department, this year the south-west monsoon has departed from the state on October 3. However, due to the activation of a new system, rains started again in the eastern districts. Good rainfall has been recorded in many districts in the last 24 hours.
The effect of rain can be seen mainly in Satna, Rewa, Sidhi, Singrauli, Shahdol, Anuppur, Umaria, Maihar, Dindori, Mandla, Balaghat and Majhgawan areas. There is a possibility of heavy rain with thunder and lightning in these districts and strong winds at some places.
At the same time, the day temperature in most parts of Bhopal, Indore, Ujjain, Gwalior and Malwa-Nimar remains between 34 to 36 degrees Celsius. Like previous years, the temperature in Indore continues to reach 35 degrees in October, while a slight coolness is started being felt at night.
This time, 908.4 mm (35.8 inches) of rainfall was recorded in the state during monsoon, which was about 4 percent less than the normal of 949.5 mm (37.3 inches). Eastern Madhya Pradesh received about 4 percent more rainfall than normal, while western parts recorded an average of 12 percent less rainfall.
Meteorologists say that there will be dry weather in most parts of the state between October 10 and 12. In such a situation, farmers have been advised to keep in mind the local weather and moisture of the fields instead of taking farming decisions only on the basis of general probability of rain.
Amidst this changed weather pattern, the people of the state may have to face all three – heat, humidity and at some places rain for the next few days.
