Vaibhav Suryavanshi will not be in the dressing room of senior players! What does the rule say, know the reason behind it in 5 points
A new star is ready to shine in Indian cricket. Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who troubled bowlers around the world with his stormy batting at the age of just 15, is now going to step into international cricket. The young batsman may get a chance to debut with the Indian senior team in the T20 series against Ireland.
Vaibhav Suryavanshi has been included by the selectors in the T20 team for Ireland, England tour and Asian Games. However, a special arrangement has been made for him on the England tour. Due to UK laws, Vaibhav, under the age of 16, will not be allowed to use the dressing room with senior players at all times.
Know the reason behind this in 5 points
1. After the Ireland tour, the Indian team will go to England, where a five-match T20 series will be played between the two countries. Vaibhav Suryavanshi has been given a place in the team for this tour also. However, after reaching England, Vaibhav will have to face a different arrangement. According to British media reports, he will not be allowed to share the dressing room with senior Indian players at all times.
2. Initially it was believed that a separate changing room for Vaibhav had been arranged as per the rules of ICC and ECB. But later it came to light that the real reason for this was the British law. ICC does not have any such mandatory rule for under-16 players. Apart from this, this series between India and England is not a part of any ICC tournament, rather it is a bilateral series.
3. According to reports, some special rules are in force in Britain keeping in mind the safety and convenience of minor players. For this reason, Vaibhav Suryavanshi will be given his own separate changing room during the T20 series against England. Under this arrangement, Vaibhav will be able to be a part of the Indian dressing room during the match and during team meetings, but for the rest of the time he will have to use the private changing room decided by the ECB.
4. Earlier reports had claimed that this decision has been taken under the protocol of ICC and ECB. However, it has now become clear that ICC has no role in this. Because Vaibhav Suryavanshi is not yet 16 years old, hence as per the rules of Britain, separate facilities are being provided for him. This decision has not been taken due to any cricket rule but in compliance with local laws.
5. Reaching the Indian cricket team at a young age shows the talent of Vaibhav Suryavanshi. Now the eyes of the fans will be fixed on his international debut. Vaibhav has already made a splash in IPL 2026, after which he was included in the senior team.
